"Growing up, I spent a lot of Fourth of Julys at my grandparents’ house. Fireworks were also a big thing for our family, and there was an ongoing joke that when my dad would light them, at least one of the fireworks would chase him. It was really funny."

"Probably the best Fourth of my life was up in Wisconsin with my wife and family. We bought two 100-foot painter’s tarps and taped them together and had an EPIC slip ‘n’ slide down an entire hill. It was insane!"

"My favorite Fourth of July memories have to be when I was 4 of 5 years old watching the parade in the small New Jersey town that my dad grew up in — classic cars, firetrucks, the candy! It was magic to me as a kid. Felt like a scene from a Norman Rockwell painting."

"Every Fourth of July, my mom pulls out a picture of me in preschool. They dressed all the kids up in a Statue of Liberty costume, and I was not about it! Tears on my four-year-old cheeks. A half-painful, half-hilarious memory."

"My favorite Fourth of July family tradition is when we’d go to our neighborhood family party and spend such quality time together. We’d cook out and have the most fun."

"Some of my favorite memories from the Fourth of July are down in Orange Beach, Alabama. My family always spent that day there when I was growing up. From the Flora-Bama to hanging out on the beach, we had too many memories to name. I’ll always love that place."

"One of my favorite Fourth of July memories was one year when my family was staying with my grandparents in Florida for the summer (just like we did almost every summer of my childhood), when we all played board games outside while watching the fireworks. Because they lived right by the beach, you could see all the fireworks from their backyard, and it was just so fun to spend time with my whole family. We’re all pretty competitive, so it was really funny to watch how into the games everyone got. I remember laughing so hard that it hurt and wishing the night would never end."

"My family always went all out every Fourth of July with a big pool party. Everyone dressed in red, white, and blue, grilling hotdogs. It always made me feel so patriotic — even as a kid. I’m so grateful I was raised to respect and love our country."

"I was 16 years old when I had the best Fourth of July! My grandma rented a huge hot dog stand from Connecticut’s famous “Frankies Hot Dogs,” and my dad and uncles all took turns lighting bottle rockets in the backyard. One of the bottle rockets had a little too much power and it landed in my uncle’s sunroof! An Independence Day I will never forget!"
