The iconic duo is returning to a record store near you. No kidding.
Everything old really is new again. Just ask The Bellamy Brothers, the enduringly popular duo that burst upon the music scene during the 1970s with a string of pop singles — including the No. 1 smash “Let Your Love Flow” — before settling into a country groove in the ‘80s. On Friday, May 20, the brothers will release their first vinyl album in more than three decades, aptly titled 40 Years: The Vinyl Album.
40 Years originally was a two-CD package, featuring such Bellamy Brothers hits as “Redneck Girl,” “Do You Love as Good as You Look,” “Old Hippie,” “If I Said You Had a Beautiful Body (Would You Hold It Against Me)” and, of course, “Let Your Love Flow.” Since its release in 2015, the brothers have continued to release new music — like their Covers From The Brothers album — and tour extensively and internationally. (In 2020, they joined Blake Shelton for his Friends and Heroes tour.) They've also starred in their own Circle TV reality series, Honky Tonk Ranch, and partnered with the medical marijuana company Trulieve on their Old Hippie Stash product line.
Earlier this week, we caught up with The Bellamy Brothers at their Florida ranch, where they live with their families and assorted livestock when they’re not on the road making music.
And here is a cut from the Covers from the Brothers album: The Bellamy Brothers’ take on the Charlie Rich classic “The Most Beautiful Girl in the World.”
