Get Out writer-director Jordan Peele is galloping off in a new direction for his latest film.
It has something to with a Black family that trains horses for Hollywood, and something else to do with a fearsome black cloud that evidently contains a malevolent force. And, really, that’s all we know so far about Nope, the new thriller from Get Out writer-director Jordan Peele set to open July 22. Only that, and this rather cryptic announcement from Universal Pictures: “The film reunites Peele with Oscar winner Daniel Kaluuya (Get Out, Judas and the Black Messiah), who is joined by Keke Palmer (Hustlers, Alice) and Oscar nominee Steven Yeun (Minari, Okja) as residents in a lonely gulch of inland California who bear witness to an uncanny and chilling discovery.”
But whatever the movie turns out to be about, you have to admit: It’s not every day you see a cool flying horse in a poster.

And here’s a peek at the trailer — where there are a few more horses, and all of them remain earthbound. The people? Not so much.
Update: And here is a longer, scarier and horsier trailer.
