Have a little caffeine with your Whiskey Myers as one of our favorite bands launches their own blend.
It was like a concert that sells out in the first few minutes that tickets become available. When Southern country-rockers from Palestine, Texas, launched their own coffee blend on March 10, the first batch sold out immediately, as did the follow up.
But don’t bum out! The next run is already in production.
Whenever Whiskey Myers used to play the iconic Gruene Hall in New Braunfels outside of Austin, Texas, its drummer, Jeff Hogg, always stopped in at Gruene Coffee Haus, a local coffee roaster. He’d stock up on his bags of his favorite beans.
Now, the band has partnered with the Texas-based coffee company to launch their own: “East Texas Pecan Blend, With Notes of Soul and Rock ’N Roll, That’ll Give You The Early Morning Shakes.” It’s a medium roast, whole-bean Costa Rican coffee, covered with a secret recipe of pecan, caramel, and vanilla extract oils. The coffee beans are packed with fresh pecan pieces from Oliver Pecan Company in San Saba, Texas, so when they’re ground together at home, the pecans become “like exploding flavor capsules,” says Gruene Coffee Haus.
The new Whiskey Myers coffee comes in one-pound bags with a limited edition matte-black Whiskey Myers logo “lightning bolt” mug for $35.
You can buy the coffee and mug here.
