At just 15, this rising young singer-songwriter has “future star” written all over her mature and melodic country tunes.
The first incarnation of Taylor Swift is bound to cross your mind when you discover Jordana Bryant. Teen love songs, singer strumming her guitar, singing in her high school bedroom — Swift’s influence and example are plain. Bryant also loves Carrie Underwood and Luke Combs.
In spite of her youth and the obvious comparisons, Bryant is already her own artist, having followed the musical path since she was a kid growing up in a small town outside of Philadelphia.
“I’ve always loved singing and music,” Bryant says. “As a kid, I’d always be singing, often without even realizing it, and when my dad would play guitar, I couldn’t help but come up with melodies and lyrics that I’d just sing out. That’s when I figured out that I really loved writing songs and recording them. With my writing, I really hope I can spread a message of positivity and put a smile on the face of anyone who hears it!”
Which brings us to “This Love,” Bryant’s debut single, which came out in October. In the midst of the pandemic, she’s working on her first EP and just dropped an acoustic video for “This Love.”
“I wrote ‘This Love’ [co-written with Seth Mosely and Jesse Lee] to capture the excitement of the beginning of a relationship,” she says. “We all daydream about experiencing young love, and so with this song I really just wanted to express and share that joy. When filming the acoustic video, I had the opportunity to play with some incredible musicians in Nashville, which I’m really grateful for. It was such an awesome experience being in the room with those musicians and seeing the song come to life!”
