Lane will be joining us to talk about the film during a July 31 Facebook chat.
First, the good news: C&I reader favorite Kevin Costner and Oscar-nominated actress Diane Lane will grace the cover of our August/September 2020 issue, which is scheduled to hit newsstands this week.
The bad news: It will be a while longer before you can see their new film, Let Him Go, which they discuss in the issue’s cover story. Originally slated to open in August, writer-director Thomas Bezucha’s masterfully suspenseful drama has been delayed until November 6, largely because of movie theater closings due to the coronavirus pandemic.
An exclusive: Lane has graciously agreed to join us for a C&I Facebook chat at 3pm ET/2 pm CT Friday, July 31, to talk about Let Him Go. And don’t be surprised if she also says a few words about her past work in Lonesome Dove and Secretariat.
Based on a novel by Larry Watson (Montana 1948), Let Him Go features Costner and Lane as horse ranchers in 1950s Montana who embark on a perilous journey to the Dakotas to retrieve their young grandson, who has been spirited away by their late son’s widow and her new husband, and taken with them to the homestead of the husband’s notoriously intimidating kinfolk.
