The concert film is available with a $35 “admission” pre-show and $45 day-of-show. Read on for details about how to attend.
This year, instead of making your way to Luck, Texas, for Willie Nelson’s legendary 4th of July Picnic, the party is coming directly to you in the comfort of your home or wherever you choose to stream it.
Nelson’s 47th annual Independence Day concert and festival was all set to return home to his Luck ranch, but — well, you know. Rather than cancel it, Luck Productions will stream the event with live performances beginning at 3:30 p.m. CDT interspersed with a 90-minute concert film that features remote performances, interviews and memories from past Picnics, and an all-star house band led by Beau Bedford of the Texas Gentlemen.
The show will include sets by Asleep at the Wheel, Charley Crockett, Peterson Brothers, Shakey Graves, and Vincent Neil Emerson. The “Spectacular Picnic Finale” features stars as diverse as Kinky Friedman, Kurt Vile, Randy Rogers & Wade Bowen, Steve Earle, Margo Price, Robert Earl Keen, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Ziggy Marley, Sheryl Crow, and more.
You can also add food and beverage delivery options from Austin’s Assembly Kitchen to your ticket. The show will stream at luck.stream, and you can find more information here. Tickets go on sale June 29.
