The cable network will focus on the legendary performers with back-to-back specials Monday.
The country hits just keep on coming on A&E. On Sunday, the cable network presented tribute specials to two country greats — Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson. On Monday, the network is following up with two more portraits of legendary performers: Biography: Kenny Rogers at 9 pm ET/8 pm CT, and Merle Haggard: Salute to a Country Legend at 11 pm ET/10 pm CT.
Biography: Kenny Rogers chronicles Rogers’ life from his childhood through the rise and fall of his group The First Edition, the game-changing release of his signature smash hit “The Gambler,” and on to the height of his career as a successful solo artist, actor and pop-culture icon. Mixing live performances and behind-the-scenes moments from Rogers’ 2017 star-studded farewell concert, All In For The Gambler, in Nashville, the two-hour program also features exclusive photos, a never-before-seen interview and acoustic performance by Rogers himself, and intimate interviews with family and fellow luminaries such as Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie, Chris Stapleton, Reba McEntire, Little Big Town, Lady Antebellum, Jamey Johnson and others.
And if all that isn’t country enough, consider: A&E also has on its Monday schedule repeat airings of Garth Brooks: The Road I’m On, Parts 1 (3 pm Et/2 pm CT) and 1 (5 pm ET/4 pm CT) and Biography: Dolly (8 pm ET/7 pm CT).
