The epic drama starring Pierce Brosnan will conclude with its Season 2 finale.
All good things must come to an end — but, unfortunately, some end all too soon. After only two seasons on the AMC cable network, The Son — the epic Texas drama starring Pierce Brosnan and based on Philipp Meyer’s best-selling novel of the same title — will draw to a close when its final episode, aptly titled “Legend,” airs at 9 pm ET/8 pm CT Saturday.
What lies in store for viewers? According to AMC: “Young Eli is forced into a life-changing decision in 1852. In 1916, Eli wages a final war with Standard Oil, forcing a confrontation with Pete.”
Brosnan, who stars as the larger-than-life Eli McCullough, told Parade magazine that he thinks Saturday’s episode will be “satisfying” for faithful fans of the series. “I think there’s a great finale to this,” he said. “I think it sits on the shelf as a wonderful bookended drama, and I don’t know how they could’ve carried on with a third season. I was very happy to walk away after two seasons.”
