In time for the holidays, the Georgia country powerhouse releases her rendition of Alabama’s “Christmas in Dixie.”
With a voice that conjures classic country icons, Erica Nicole embodies true traditional country music — and what a welcome sound that is around Christmas.
The Georgia native’s new holiday track, “Christmas in Dixie,” remains loyal to her roots with its graceful musical nods to influences George Strait, Reba McEntire, Johnny Cash, and Dolly Parton — and gives plenty of respect to the Alabama original.
Written by Mark Harndon, Randy Owen, Jeff Cook, and Teddy Gentry and recorded by Alabama for their first Christmas album, Alabama Christmas, “Christmas in Dixie” is a lovely tune for the season of love.
“'Christmas in Dixie’ is a song that I feel is just perfect for this holiday season because I believe music unites, and this song covers those all across our great USA. Merry Christmas and God bless the USA,” says Nicole.
The song’s warm wishes from the Southeast go out to the whole country, portraying “the peaceful Christmas time” we all hope for.
