Song Premiere: Kendall Beard’s “Here Comes Trouble”

BY Kristin Brown
October 10, 2018

Up-and-coming country singer Kendall Beard debuts the title track off of her forthcoming album, Here Comes Trouble, exclusively with C&I.

Rising country artist Kendall Beard is capturing country’s heart with her modern twist on the traditional genre. Following in the footsteps of lovable legends like Loretta Lynn and Dolly Parton, she stays true to her self-assured perspective.

That strong stance makes for music that’s a breath of fresh air. Take the title track — “Here Comes Trouble” — off her forthcoming album. With vibrant violin, toe-tapping bass, a catchy melody, sleek harmonies, and catchy guitar riffs, the song checks all the boxes for a hit country tune. It draws you in musically, and the unapologetic lyrics and confident vocals keep you there.

“‘Here Comes Trouble’ is one of my favorite songs on the album,” Beard says. “It’s about that feeling of needing to let loose, break some rules, and get into some trouble. I think we’re are all aware of the feeling you get when you are stuck deep in the daily grind. This is about that moment of making the decision to break out, go out on the town, and indulge in some vices. It’s also setting the stage for the introduction of the album, which is why I put it first on the album. It’s almost a message to everyone of what the album is about.”

That message would seem to be that Beard isn’t an artist who fits neatly in a preconceived box.

“These songs are very personal to me,” she says. “Some are rough around the edges and push the envelope of what people are used to hearing from a Texas country female artist. I’m taking more chances with these songs than I did with my first album. So ‘Here Comes Trouble’ was the perfect title to track and the most fitting song to open up the album.”
