It’s been two years since Lane Boots debuted this collaborative collection designed by Junk Gypsy founders Aime and Jolie Sikes, and for each new season, the sisters go bigger and brighter. After all, as Jolie says, “In the South, we take our boots seriously.”
The Junk Gypsy by Lane collection now includes everything from edgy everyday shorties to over-the-knee showstoppers with flowing fringe, whimsical guitars, flowering cactuses, and, of course, their trademark winged heart. Fans (including me) of the Junk Gypsy’s eclectic and unapologetically bold sense of style can not get enough of these killer kicks!
“We were a little nervous about collaborating at first,” says Amie Sikes, “because we’re so picky. But the folks from Lane came to our store in Round Top, Texas, and we went over our sketches — tons of sketches — and they’ve stayed really true to our vision.”
Two of my favorites from their debut designs, both of which have found their way into my closet: the dreamy Crossroads boot with winged guitars and the Hard to Handle cactus boot (the first pair I purchased!)
On my list for this year: the new Bramble Rose boot (because who doesn’t need another retro red cowgirl boot?) and the over-the-knee Spirit Animal boot (which may, in fact, be my spirit animal).
