The King of Country supports the Alamo Drafthouse campaign to keep it quiet while watching movies.
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Pure Country — the enduringly popular musical drama featuring, in a bold stroke of casting, George Strait as a country music superstar — Alamo Drafthouse, the Texas-based independent theater chain, will offer special screenings of the film throughout August at its 28 nationwide locations.
And King George is pleased.
So pleased, in fact, that he agreed to appear in one of the Alamo Drafthouse’s signature public service announcements that warn moviegoers to turn off their cellphones.
