Skyville Live is an Emmy Award-winning online music series dedicated to providing music lovers with an exclusive and original online music series tying together today’s biggest stars in an interactive way. Previous stars hitting the Skyville stage include Kris Kristofferson, Steve Earle, and Ingrid Michaelson.
Now, the online series is giving its audience a once-in-a-lifetime performance with their upcoming “Guitar Greats” episode, spotlighting acclaimed musicians Billy Gibbons, Robert Randolph, Blackberry Smoke’s Charlie Starr, and Charlie Worsham.
Filmed in front of a live audience on May 4, the show is packed with electric solos and standout musical performances from some of the industry’s most celebrated instrumentalists and artists. With an acclaimed lineup, the show yields electric groove and fiery performances from start to finish.
ZZ Top frontman Billy Gibbons and talented American funk steel guitarist Robert Randolph open the show with a high-energy performance of ZZ Top’s “Just Got Paid.” Proceeding from that dynamic opening, Charlie Starr takes the audience back in time with Blackberry Smoke’s “Running Through Time,” followed by Charlie Worsham’s “Beginning of Things” and “Please People Please.” The most rewarding once-in-a-lifetime collaboration concludes the show with the entire lineup delving into Sam & Dave classic “I Thank You,” a performance of epic proportions.
“Our ‘Guitar Greats’ show brought together such an amazing and eclectic group of artists that all share the talent of being tremendous players and performers,” says Skyville Live creator Wally Wilson in a press release. “Not only was it a fun show for us, the audience, and the artists, but it was truly an honor to have this group of skilled musicians on the Skyville Live stage. We can’t wait for the audiences at home to experience it also.”
