Jonathan Jackson sings a beautiful version of “Unchained Melody” at the Grand Ole Opry.
Season5 of Nashville is finally coming back to our TVs on January 5. To celebrate, we’re featuring another Nashville artist for our Opry Performance of the Week. Last week, we introduced you to Lennon & Maisy’s duet version of the Lumineer’s hit single “Ho Hey.” This week, we present Jonathan Jackson’s stellar performance of the classic “Unchained Melody.”
At the start of his career, Jackson’s first notable acting gig was as Luke Spencer on the ABC soap opera General Hospital, a role that earned him five Daytime Emmy Awards. During and after several seasons of playing Spencer, Jackson acted in popular movies like Tuck Everlasting (alongside Alexis Bledel) and TV shows including Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles.
In 2012, he landed the role of Avery Barkley, the current love interest of Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere) on Nashville. On the show, the multitalented actor and singer gives some show-stopping performances and wins the hearts of loyal Nashville fans with his serenading voice and kind demeanor.
See for yourself as Jackson sings a soul-stirring rendition of “Unchained Melody,” a song originally made famous by The Righteous Brothers, on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry.
