The annual NFR must-attend event is all about roping, bucking, and buying.
The South Point Arena & Equestrian Center serves as host to not only prestigious annual equestrian events like the AQHA Championships and Las Vegas Hunter Jumper Nationals but also sports competitions, alpaca auctions, and even an archery festival.
But during NFR, it’s all about rodeo. In addition to hosting the Priefert World Series of Team Roping Finale XI, South Point welcomes Benny Binion’s World Famous Bucking Horse & Bull Sale.
This is no ordinary sale.
Highlighting the future superstars of pro rodeo alongside the merchandise, on December 1 the sale kicks off with the PRCA Permit Holder of the Year Challenge, a two-round final with the top five PRCA permit money earners from the 2016 season in bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, bull riding, steer wrestling, tie-down roping, and team roping.
The action only escalates from there, culminating with Saturday’s bull riding event, a similar showcase to give bull riders finishing 16th to 66th in the PRCA standings a jump on the 2017 season. They’ll be matched against some 53 bulls, all of which will also be auctioned off live as they’re bucked.
