CMT released the first trailer to Season 5 of Nashville and announced a special sneak peek at the two-hour premiere episode.
Nashville fans have had to wait a long time for Season 5 of the hit country music-centered drama. After ABC dropped the curtain on the show earlier this May, sending Twitter into a frenzy among the show’s diehard fans, its fate hung in the balance.
Luckily, CMT, a cable channel specifically devoted to country music, provided a TV miracle and picked the show up a month later for a fifth season. Now, after a six-month Nashville drought, fans are finally getting a look at the upcoming season. And we have to say, the show looks more drama-packed and better than ever. For proof, check out the recently released trailer below.
Season 5 is scheduled to premiere on January 5 with a special two-hour episode picking right up where ABC left off on Season 4 (SPOILER ALERT: Hayden Panettiere’s character Juliette’s fate is literally left up in the air), but the television show’s new host is providing a special holiday stress release for fans who’ve been anxiously waiting to see what happens: CMT has announced that it will broadcast the first hour of the two-hour premiere three weeks early. That’s right — three whole weeks early, and just in time for maximum holiday cheer.
Tune in to CMT December 15 at 8 p.m. Central to see the first hour of the season premiere. As big fans of the music melodrama, we’re counting the days till we get answers to the cliffhanger.
The new season officially premieres on CMT on January 5 and launches on Hulu January 6 (Hulu will continue streaming the 22 episodes of Season 5 the day after they air on CMT). But if you’re just getting into the show, Seasons 1 – 4 are available on Hulu now for your bingeing pleasure.
