The plot thickens on Episode 2 of the HBO series as newcomers arrive to enjoy the theme park attractions.
New “guests” (i.e., paying customers) interact with the “hosts” (i.e., pre-programmed androids) in “Chestnut,” Episode 2 of Westworld, which airs at 9 pm ET Sunday, October 9, on HBO.
Logan (Ben Barnes), a rowdy veteran of past Westworld vacations, and William (Jimmi Simpson), his appreciably more introverted soon-to-be brother-in-law, arrive at the futuristic Wild West theme park with plans to get their cowboy on. (Any resemblance between these characters and the ones played by James Brolin and Richard Benjamin in the original 1973 Westworld movie probably isn’t coincidental). But while Logan is unabashedly eager to kill and fornicate to wretched excess, William, a newcomer to the park, is far more inhibited. At first.
Meanwhile, Delores (Evan Rachel Woods) continues to evidence signs of self-awareness (and, possibly, rebellion), The Man in Black (Ed Harris) searches for signs of deeper, darker meanings behind the “violent delights” of Westworld — and saloon madam Maeve (Thandie Newton) doesn’t take kindly at all to being “repaired.”
