Denzel Washington, Ethan Hawke, and Chris Pratt head the cast of the wild western remake.
Coming September 23 to a theater or drive-in near you: The Magnificent Seven, director Antoine Fuqua’s remake of John Sturges’ classic 1960 western — which was itself a remake of Akira Kurosawa’s 1954 Seven Samurai.
Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, Vincent D’Onofrio, Byung-hun Lee, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Martin Sensmeir, and C&I cover guy Ethan Hawke star in the hard-edged action-adventure, which was filmed in and around Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
The official plot synopsis: “With the town of Rose Creek under the deadly control of industrialist Bartholomew Bogue (Peter Sarsgaard), the desperate townspeople employ protection from seven outlaws, bounty hunters, gamblers and hired guns — Sam Chisolm (Washington), Josh Farraday (Pratt), Goodnight Robicheaux (Hawke), Jack Horne (D’Onofrio), Billy Rocks (Lee), Vasquez (Garcia-Rulfo), and Red Harvest (Sensmeier). As they prepare the town for the violent showdown that they know is coming, these seven mercenaries find themselves fighting for more than money.”
