Del Frisco’s Grille has the perfect way to toast a special day.
Tequila is more than a shot of regret. It’s Mexico’s national spirit, produced according to strict standards, and, like all agave-derived spirits, a favorite of C&I. The staff is so fond of it, tequila and its cousins — mezcal, for example — were named to the Best of the West 2015 editors’ picks. As luck would have it, Friday, July 24, is National Tequila Day. To celebrate the concocted holiday, we recommend mixing up a glass of the Margarita 160 from Del Frisco’s Grille, the more relaxed yet no less upscale sibling of the legendary Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse.
2½ ounces Sauza Silver Tequila
½ ounce agave nectar
1 ounce fresh-squeezed lime juice
½ ounce sugar-free triple sec
Lime wedge, for garnish
Shake all ingredients with ice in a cocktail shaker. Strain into a salt-rimmed martini glass and garnish with a lime wedge.
