This celebration of Native art is held on Native land and features 200-plus new works by more than 80 Native artists. Works range from traditional beadwork to contemporary paintings, photographs to mixed-media collages. Among the renowned participating artists is Oglala Lakota painter Donald Montileaux, whose vibrant watercolors on paper, canvas, and animal hides create a contemporary form of ledger art, which he uses to share stories of his people to keep them alive for future generations.
