Landscape Painting Essentials - Stephen Day has been a full-time artist for over 35 years. He is known for landscapes of the West and Southwest and in particular his paintings of big skies. He captures a specific scene and sees himself as a scene painter.

In this workshop students will learn the basics of landscape painting and will paint at least 5 paintings during the 3-day workshop. Day will demonstrate daily and will spend individual time with each student in the class. He will also provide all the photos for the paintings so that the students will paint a variety of landscape scenes. Values, drawing, edges, and color will be the main focus of the workshop. We will also discuss materials, techniques, and the essentials that make strong paintings. Day is a firm believer that painting is learned by doing, so come ready to paint.
