And now for something completely different: Paramount+ will give viewers the opportunity to binge The Madison – the new series from uber-producer Taylor Sheridan – on two consecutive weekends in March.
Sort of.
On Saturday, March 14, Paramount+ will air back-to-back the first three episodes of the drama starring Michelle Pfeiffer (pictured above) and Kurt Rusell. But wait, there’s more: The final three episodes – yes, there will be only six Season 1 episodes – will premiere back-to-back the following Saturday, March 21.
What’s it all about? According to Paramount+, The Madison “is Sheridan’s most intimate work to date, unfolding across two distinct worlds – the beautiful landscape of Montana and the vibrant energy of Manhattan – as it examines the ties that bind families together. Introducing the Clyburns, [the series] is a heartfelt study of grief and human connection following a New York City family in the Madison River Valley of central Montana.”
The six-episode Season 1 will focus on Stacy Clyburn (Pfeiffer), the wealthy matriarch of a family who heads to Montana from New York City following the death of her husband and brother-in-law in a plane crash. Those six episodes, by the way, must have really impressed the decision-makers at Paramount+. They have reportedly already completed shooting Season 2, which will air at a yet-to-be-announced date.
In addition to Pfeiffer and Russell, the Madison cast features Beau Garrett (Firefly Lane), Elle Chapman (A Man Called Otto), Patrick J. Adams (Suits), Amiah Miller (War for the Planet of the Apes), Alaina Pollack (The Surrender), Ben Schnetzer (3 Body Problem), Kevin Zegers (Power), Rebecca Spence (Lady in the Lake), Danielle Vasinova (1923), Matthew Fox (Lost) and Will Arnett (Is This Thing On?).
Executive producers include Taylor Sheridan, David C. Glasser, John Linson, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Christina Alexandra Voros, Michael Friedman, Pfeiffer, Russell and Keith Cox. Voros is the director of all six Season 1 episodes.
