Tyler Greco’s documentary short will premiere Sept. 16 on Netflix.
“I’m the flint,” horse trainer Robin Wiltshire explains in My Heroes Were Cowboys. “And once the horse gets the spark, it’s like, magical.”
Director Tyler Greco focuses on the ways Wiltshire works his magic while bonding with horses in the Netflix documentary short, which is set to premiere Sept. 16 on the streaming platform.
Produced by actor Chris Pine, My Heroes Were Cowboys is, according to the Netflix logline, the story of “an immigrant inspired by the iconography of the Hollywood western” who “finds meaning and redemption through the art of horse training.”
“It was my dream to train,” Wiltshire says. “It’s just like playing the piano — because they’re playing their music in front of you.”
