The eagerly anticipated drama will be available September 17 on HBOMax and in theatrical release.
HBOMax dropped a trailer Thursday for Cry Macho, a drama starring and directed by C&I reader favorite Clint Eastwood — who turned 91 last May, but shows no signs of slowing down because he is, well, Clint Eastwood. The film will premiere Sept. 17 in theaters and on HBOMax.
What’s it all about? According to the official synopsis: Mike Milo (Eastwood), a onetime rodeo star and washed-up horse breeder, takes a job from an ex-boss (Dwight Yoakam) in 1978 to bring the man’s young son Rafo (Eduardo Minett) home and away from his alcoholic mom. Crossing rural Mexico on their back way to Texas, Mike and Rafo face an unexpectedly challenging journey, during which the world-weary horseman may find his own sense of redemption through teaching the boy what it means to be a good man.
We’ve looked at the trailer and, frankly, we can’t wait.
