Situated under the stars in Wyoming, Rooted on the River Ranch is available for purchase.
Just outside of Cody and the East Entrance of Yellowstone National Park lies the peaceful town of Meeteetse. It is one of the oldest settlements in the area. The town name has several Native American meanings, from “Meeting Place” to one of our favorites, “Place of Rest.” Relaxation comes in many forms here on the ranch. From a contemplation or meditation area on the bank of the Greybull River looking toward the Absoraka Mountain Range, to hiking, fishing, bird-watching, horseback riding, photography, or just being creative with nature.
A hand-painted watercolor map was created by artist Ron Rogers. The layout takes friends and family on an excursion from one entrance to the other. This is just showing the adventure on the south side of the river. The north side holds an additional space to explore including horse trails down in a Grand Canyon-like experience. Fire rings, elk antler sheds, Native medicinal plants, and abundant wildlife hide in all the nooks and crannies.
The Greybull River meanders over a mile throughout the ranch. Known for the blue-ribbon fishing of native Yellowstone cutthroat trout, it is a fisherman’s dream. Two ponds are an oasis for wildlife and waterfowl year-round. Water rights in the West are truly gold and this property is blessed with significant water. Not only are there beautiful ponds and the river, but newly installed pivot irrigation to water the organic hay fields in the summer.
Rooted on the River Ranch is a work of art.
It has had the hands of many talented artisans touch it through construction trades, horse trainers, and the animals, which are a large part of making this canvas complete. The owners had a vision to love the land, making it a magical place to hang your hat. The property is available as a complete package. This would include the herd of registered Gypsy Vanner horses who pull carts and sleighs as well as make a top-notch breeding opportunity.
Boutique cattle, which include angus crossed with wagyu and piedmontese (an Italian breed of cow). Top-of-the-line tractors, equipment and vast variety of all-terrain vehicles and four wheelers. Most important, the ranch is staffed with talented and grateful employees who love and care for the land and the animals. The houses are eloquently furnished for the new owners to move right in. Open the many doors at the ranch, even this creative pantry door upholstered, reclaimed, and surrounded by recycled siding. This is just a sneak peek into the layers of design that will embrace your family.
