By tweaking some of your favorite cocktails and swapping the usual spirits for Pendleton Original whisky, you can turn just about anything you’re drinking into something a little more cowboy — or cowgirl. Those smoky, caramelly whisky notes give a Western, two-steppin’ vibe to whatever’s in your glass. Cheers!
Rodeo Rita
Makes 1
Ingredients
1½ ounces Pendleton Original whisky
¾ ounce triple sec
2 ounces fresh lime juice
3 ounces margarita mix
1 lime wedge, for serving
Instructions
Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake until well combined. Strain into a cocktail glass with ice. Serve with lime wedge.
Pendleton Paloma
Makes 1
Ingredients
1½ ounces Pendleton Original whisky
¾ ounce grapefruit juice
½ ounce simple syrup
2 dashes orange bitters
1 grapefruit peel, for serving
Instructions
Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake well. Strain into a highball glass with ice. Garnish with grapefruit peel.
The Original Cowboy
Makes 1
Ingredients
1½ ounces Pendleton Original whisky
¾ ounce fresh lemon juice
½ ounce simple syrup
Soda water
1 cherry, for garnish
1 lemon wheel, for garnish
Instructions
Combine all ingredients except soda water in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake until well combined. Strain and pour into a tall Collins glass or highball glass with ice. Top with soda water, and garnish with cherry and lemon wheel.
