When it comes to creating quality home furnishings that fit life on the ranch, no one does it better than family-owned Brumbaugh’s Fine Home Furnishings.
In addition to managing a store that serves customers throughout the United States, the Brumbaughs live and work on ranches. Daughter Elizabeth Brumbaugh Quirk reflects on life as a cowgirl in her recent blog, “Memoirs of a Cowgirl.”
“By no means do I consider myself resourceful around the barn or useful in fixing fences or the varied tasks that encompass being a cowgirl,” she admits. “I am a rancher’s daughter, a champion for the welfare of the equine industry, and a competitor on horseback. When I think of a true cowgirl, I envision the legendary Mitzi Riley, Molly Goodnight, or Lucille Mulhall. These women were advocates for the cowgirl lifestyle which blazed the path for women in the ranching and rodeo world. These women made it possible for me to be my version of cowgirl on a daily basis!”
“When I was a teenager, I fell in love with the cow-horse industry; specifically, Cutting Horses. The two minutes and thirty seconds of sheer ability maneuvering through a herd of cattle and playing 'keep-away' with one calf is something words cannot adequately define. Riding in the National Cutting Horse Competitions for over 15 years has afforded me the opportunity to travel to competitions coast-to-coast, develop lasting friendships, and these events are even where I met my husband.”
Elizabeth and her husband Todd Quirk continue to travel the country competing in shows and share their experiences with their three-year-old son and his grandparents, Larry and Sally Brumbaugh. It is the family’s direct involvement in the industry, along with the daily activities of the ranch life, that help them maintain 50,000 square feet of quality furnishings that truly enhance this lifestyle.
From fine leathers and hair-on-hide to perfectly appointed nail head trim and saddle stitching, the furniture captures the eye with incomparable detail designed to last a lifetime. Customers enjoy strolling through a showroom filled with hand-carved tables and chairs, sofas and chairs that invite you to come in a “sit a spell,” and a selection of finest handmade, hand-knotted rugs to complement any room in your home.
“Steeped in family and tradition, we strive to epitomize the western way of life throughout the home. My goal is to substantiate the American West as you enter our storefront.”
I draw an inference from my dealings with the equine industry,” Elizabeth says.“I would even call the ranch my muse.”
In fact, Brumbaugh’s recently introduced “The Elizabeth Collection,” which captures the youthful, contemporary spirit of a cowgirl with a vision for a modern, sophisticated style. The color palette Elizabeth selected features warm neutrals with bold, bright accents.
If you find yourself in Ft.Worth, Texas, stop by Brumbaugh’s and say, “Hello,” or visit their website. You’ll find out right away that what they offer not only fits the lifestyle of the rancher, but truly offers the finest quality home furnishings anywhere.
