“‘Spur of the Moment’ came about from the realization that the phrase could be written with a double meaning,” Frey says. “It is my take — and I speak from personal experience — on the cliché of the cowboy choosing the rodeo over the girl. Only this time, you’re actually hearing it straight from the girl left behind.”
