To commemorate the death of Tejano star Selena, we are giving away a copy of her biography written by a C&I contributor.
Tomorrow, March 31, 2020, marks 25 years that Selena Quintanilla-Pérez was killed at the age of 23. She would have been 49 this April. A singer, dancer, role model, and fashion icon — even long after her death — she was crowned Queen of Tejano Music, but her voice touched the hearts of many outside the genre, and continues to do so today.
In honor of her life, we are giving away an author-signed copy of Selena: Como la Flor, a biography by C&I contributor Joe Nick Patoski. He followed Selena closely during his time as a music writer at Texas Monthly, sitting down with her for an interview in her tour bus before an Austin performance in 1994.
