Previous iterations of the line (formerly dubbed Frontier Clothing and Old Frontier) established a mission — to honor the tradition of Western fashion, but also to elevate it. Frontier by Lawrence Scott continues that mission with elegant, detail-rich options for men and ladies, from shirts, vests, trousers, and jackets to outerwear, hats, and accessories. Putting together a complete look for a special event or night out should be easier than ever now for admirers of the Frontier line: There’s a fresh website that allows shoppers to see in fine detail the components and how they work together (pictured: the Town Coat with wool vest, all-cotton chambray tuxedo shirt, and silk tie). And there’s also a new retail store in Los Angeles, on LaBrea Avenue, a street that’s always catered to the hipsters and fashion-forward crowds. The mix of Western tradition and high style should be something new for that scene, and it’s long overdue. Along with the apparel, the store will eventually add one-of-a-kind jewelry, custom clothing and hat options, and leather goods.
