Freshen up summer cocktails with these spritzers from Mountain Valley Spring Water.
It’s about to get real hot. To help ease the stifling temperatures, Mountain Valley Spring Water has shared a few recipes filled with fizzy relief. Pictured chickens, not included.
Cherry Lime Tequila Spritzer
(Makes 1 cocktail)
1 tablespoon coarse salt for glass rim
Crushed ice made from Mountain Valley Spring Water
2 ounces blanco tequila
1 ounce fresh lime juice
½ ounce fresh cherry syrup (recipe follows)
½ ounce maraschino liqueur
2 ounces Mountain Valley Sparkling Water Twist of Lime
Sliced limes and fresh cherry, for garnish
Start by prepping your glass. Run a slice of lime around the rim of a highball glass, and roll through coarse salt. Fill glass completely with crushed ice (and if you want to be fancy, lay your garnish lime slices flat along the side of the glass before filling with ice).
In a shaker with ice (made from Mountain Valley Spring Water), add tequila, lime juice, cherry syrup, and maraschino liqueur. Shake until chilled and strain into your prepped glass. Top with Sparkling Lime Twist and garnish with lime slices and cherry. Final step, drink up.
Cherry Syrup
1 cup pitted fresh cherries
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
Combine fresh cherries, sugar, and water in a saucepan over medium high heat. Simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and smash cherries with a muddler. Set mixture aside to thoroughly cool, then strain into an airtight jar and store in fridge.*
*This delightful cherry syrup is perfect with club soda, pinot grigio, dry rose, or some lemon lime soda.
Strawberry Mint White Wine Spritzer
(Makes a pitcher)
3 cups ice
½ cup sliced strawberries, plus more for garnish
¼ cup fresh mint leaves, plus more for garnish
1 bottle white wine
1 (16-ounce) bottle Mountain View Sparkling water
Place a few cups of ice in a large pitcher. Add your strawberries and mint and stir lightly. Add the white wine and more ice and stir. Top with Mountain View sparkling water and pour into glasses. Garnish with strawberries and mint. Now, drink up.
Rosemary Grapefruit Spritzer
(Makes 4 servings)
1 – 2 large bunches fresh rosemary
24 ounces chilled Mountain Valley Sparkling Water, plus more for topping
1 (750 ml) bottle chilled prosecco
2 – 3 large grapefruits (12 ounces juice plus garnish)
Ice
12 drops Stevia (optional)
Set aside 4-8 rosemary sprigs, depending on how many guests, and drop the rest in a 4 cup-sized pitcher (or larger). Pour in chilled Mountain Valley Sparkling Water, chilled prosecco, and 12 ounces of grapefruit juice.
Fill 4 cocktail glasses with ice. Pour mixture into each glass, leaving room for a splash of sparkling water on top. Add 3 drops liquid Stevia to each glass for added sweetness if desired. Garnish each with sliced grapefruit and rosemary spring. Serve immediately and drink up. You're going to love this twist on a summer cocktail.
