Western blogger and rodeo wife Paige Murray talks Christmas magic, spending the holidays with family, and her favorite gifts from her husband, Ty Murray.
It wouldn’t be the holidays without … the magic of Christmas and sharing it with family and friends.
Favorite Christmas present I’ve ever gotten … Every year my husband, Ty, has given me an animal for my “funny farm.” So far, I’ve gotten two mini horses, chickens, two Maine Coon kittens, hamsters, rats (That was for my stepson. Ha, ha!), and a sheep! They have been the best!
Best gift I’ve ever given … My Mama started the tradition with me of hand-making ornaments for gifts, and I pass that down to my children! Each year we make a special handmade ornament to wrap for family gifts. The salt dough ornaments are my favorite, and I share this idea and others on my blog, bootsandbiscuits.com.
Most wonderful Christmas memory … My stepson is 11, and my daughter is 4 … seeing their excitement on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning is definitely the best memory!
For our holiday meal, I especially look forward to … my mama’s make-ahead sausage breakfast casserole! Mama makes this every year for us in South Carolina, and now I make it every year for my family in Texas!
My family’s most cherished holiday traditions are … Every year on the day after Thanksgiving, the family hooks up a trailer to our four-wheeler, and we go out and cut down a cedar tree (bush) off of our Texas ranch!
The first song I put on my holiday playlist is … “Mary Did You Know” by Meredith Andrews.
Best place to spend the holidays … home! We always celebrate Christmas a week early with my stepson on our ranch in Texas (Santa comes early), and then fly to see my family in South Carolina over Christmas. It works perfectly!
Good organization for giving back … the Christmas Angel Tree program to provide gifts to children in need!
My greatest wish for the new year ahead is … the health of my family! Nothing is more important or matters more to me than family.
