Montgomery Gentry performs “Where I Come From” live at the Grand Ole Opry.
In memory of Troy Gentry, who tragically was killed at the age of 50 in a helicopter crash on September 8, we are dedicating this week’s Opry performance to his amazing talents as one half of the country music duo Montgomery Gentry.
One of the most identifiable duos in country music, Montgomery Gentry has a long list of memorable No.1 hits and crowd favorites, including “Where I Come From,” “Something to Be Proud Of,” “My Town,” and “Hell Yeah.”
Altogether, the duo from Kentucky have released a total of eight studio albums: Tattoos & Scars, Carry On, My Town, You Do Your Thing, Some People Change, Back When I Knew It, Rebels on the Run, and Folks Like Us. They’ve won an American Music Award for Favorite New Artist, an Academy of Country Music Award for Top New Vocal Duo or Group, and a Country Music Association Award for Vocal Duo of the Year.
