Breaking through the music scene in 1996 with her debut album Did I Shave My Legs For This?, Deana Carter, daughter of renowned guitarist and musician Fred Carter, became an overnight success with her country single “Strawberry Wine.” The song reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles and Tracks and the album reached No. 2 on the U.S. Top Country Albums chart.
Carter and her single “Strawberry Wine” would go on to be nominated for Best Country Female Vocal Performance at the Grammy Awards and win Single of the Year at the Country Music Association Awards.
Since, the Tennessee native has gone to release six more studio albums, Everything’s Gonna Be Alright, Father Christmas, I’m Just a Girl, The Story of My Life, The Chain, and Southern Way of Life.
