Ghosts, Ghouls and History Come Alive: Halloween Events in Georgetown, Texas

WHAT:
Georgetown, Texas, in the heart of historic Williamson County, will host a variety of Halloween events for all ages throughout October and into early November. Enjoy the Ghostly Adventure Tours around the “Most Beautiful Town Square in Texas,” offering two versions to attract both younger children and older thrill-seekers. The Williamson County Brown Santa and the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office sponsor the 8th Annual Nightmare on Jail Hill, where one can spend an evening exploring the haunted Williamson County Jail with all proceeds benefiting the Williamson County Brown Santa program. Be sure to check out the current show at the Palace Theater, 1776, and dress up with the kids in time for Boo Bash, sponsored by the Downtown Georgetown Association.

WHEN & WHERE:
Oct. 7 – Oct. 30:
1776 will run every weekend at the Palace Theatre, located at 810 S Austin Ave, Georgetown. Show times include Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. Purchase tickets online.

Oct. 21 – 22, 28 – 29:
Nightmare on Jail Hill Haunted House takes place at the Old Williamson County Jail at 312 Main Street, Georgetown. This rumored haunted jailhouse, which held prisoners from 1889 through 1990, has been featured on the popular show, “Ghost Hunters.” The event runs from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. each night. Fast Pass tickets are $20, adult tickets are $10 and child tickets are $5 (ages 8-12).  *The historic jail is NOT handicap accessible.

Oct. 21 – 22, Oct. 28 – 29:
Ghosts on the Square Tours are hosted by the Williamson Museum. Tour times: 7:30, 8:00, 8:30 and 9:00 p.m. for both weekends. Tours held at 9 p.m. will be scarier than the earlier tours tours. Purchase tickets at the Williamson Museum at 716 S. Austin Ave. Georgetown 78626, or by phone at 512- 943-1670. Tickets are $15 for non-museum members and $12 for members and students.

Oct. 30:
Boo Bash, hosted by The Downtown Georgetown Association, is a family-friendly trick-or-treat event around the “Most Beautiful Town Square in Texas” where merchants keep their stores open from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., offering candy to all in costume.
