Cimarron Cowboy Music and Poetry Gathering

This annual performance of cowboy music and poetry on the Old Santa Fe Trail at the Philmont Scout Ranch will be held Aug 26-27. Two night shows at 7pm will spotlight ten different entertainers each night. A non-stop Saturday afternoon show will feature foursomes each hour. Entertainers include Jim Jones, the Western Music Association's (WMA) 2014 Male Performer of the Year; Doug Figgs, the WMA 2015 Songwriter of the Year; Susie Knight, WMA 2014 Female Poet of the Year, and Dale Page, WMA 2015 Cowboy Poetry of the Year winner. All performances are family friendly. Cowboy Church will be held Sunday morning at 9am at no charge. Tents with cots on the premises are available, as well as a cafeteria. Area attractions include the Villa Philmonte, oilman Waite Phillips' mansion; the Ernest Thompson Seton Museum; Cimarron's historic St. James Hotel, built by Abraham Lincoln's chef, Henri Lambert; the Maxwell Mill; and the Chase Ranch Headquarters. Come join us for purely Western songs and poetry in the Cimarron area, "Where the West is Still Wild."
