Extravagance isn’t new to Western fashion. Look at the plumage and war paint of Native Americans or the flamboyance and fringe of Buffalo Bill’s costumes. Cowboys and Indians in the Wild West wanted to stand out, make an impression, or display their standing in life. Centuries later, not much has changed — the region still breeds individual spirits with an ingrained sense of style. So it stands to reason that contemporary Western fashion, in a league of its own, is known for mixing the unapologetically elegant with the undeniably rustic. This season we focus on styles of sophistication and grandeur that fit perfectly in the American West.
