Colorado Store with Electic Style
Furnishing a 7,000-square-foot home in just 48 hours? Not a problem for Gina and Marilyn D’Amore of D’Amore Interiors. “We had a client with a seven-bedroom house up in Breckenridge [Colorado], right underneath a ski gondola, and we had just two days because they were from Florida and were leaving after the weekend,” recalls Gina. “We went to their place, took all of our notes and measurements, and created an entire furniture plan in one night. We gave them the presentation the next day, right down to the lamps and bedding, and they didn’t change a thing.”
In addition to offering their expert design services, the mother-daughter duo travels the world in search of the perfect pieces for their Colorado showroom. “Usually we find our best lines from smaller exhibitors, who may be working from a shop in their home but are doing something that’s really unique,” Gina says.
Gina grew up in the family business, which began more than 30 years ago with her mother selling hand-painted pillows and bedspreads at a Florida flea market. Moving the business west in 1997, the family opened up shop just outside Denver, where D’Amore Interiors has since grown into a 17,000-square-foot showroom of artisan furnishings and décor, including an impressive selection of leatherworks. “We’re here to provide whatever our customers need, whether it’s one piece of pottery or décor for their entire home.”
Each of the store’s vignettes is fully furnished in a different theme — be it Western, Southwestern, modern, mountain, or Mediterranean — accented by select pieces in various styles that still complement the overall look. Says Gina, “We’re not a fan of the matched set.”
