There’s no shortage of opportunities for Americans to vote for their favorite people. Every year we have chances to choose our top singers, dancers, food show hosts, biggest losers, and smallest winners. Heck, we just started gearing up for the next season of America’s ultimate audience-vote reality contest — the 2012 presidential campaign. But we at Cowboys & Indians keep asking, “When will we get the chance to vote on our favorite horse?”

At long last the time has come. Starting September 13, HRTV will air 13 episodes of America’s Favorite Trail Horse. Viewers have the chance to vote for their favorite equine as $100,000 worth of prizes are awarded. Nine hundred horse and rider teams showed up to auditions held across the country by the American Competitive Trail Horse Association. The remaining 100 teams represent 25 breeds and 36 states. It’s up to you to decide which horses go home with top honors.
