Hall of Famer and rodeo legend Roy Cooper made more than $2 million as a professional roper before taking a turn wrangling ostriches as the general manager of the new Jurassic Ranch Handmade Boots company in Decatur, Texas (the name comes from the fact that the ostrich is the world’s closest surviving descendant of the dinosaur). Thanks to homegrown breeding and leather-tanning processes, Jurassic Ranch prides itself as the only true vertical ostrich bootmaker in the country. Along with a selection of entirely ostrich leather shoes and fashion boots, the women’s Donna Jean collection features Western boots and ropers in classic, vintage, and exotic styles in more than 50 different colors.
