“Red or green?” may be New Mexico's most hotly contested decision, but diners will face even tougher choices when the state’s first Restaurant Week debuts in Santa Fe (February 28th to March 6th) and Albuquerque (March 7th to 13th) in 2010. It will be a unique opportunity to dine at the area’s finest restaurants — and stay at some of the best lodgings — for bargain prices.

More than 60 restaurants in both cities will feature three-course, prix fixe dinner menus for either $25 per person or per couple, with a few raising the price to $40 per person. Not a local? Out-of-towners will also be able to take advantage of special rates at several area hotels, including El Corazon de Santa Fe, El Rey Inn, Encantado Resort & Spa, Hotel Andaluz, Hotel Santa Fe, The Inn and Spa at Loretto, the Santa Fe Sage Inn, and the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa.

In addition to the food and lodging deals, there will also be cooking classes, wine tastings, and mixology demonstrations. For more information on participating restaurants, menu selections, hotel packages, and events, visit www.newmexicorestaurantweek.com. On the Restaurant Week website, you can also use OpenTable to make your dinner reservations and enter a sweepstakes to win restaurant gift certificates, hotel stays, and more.
