In The Club

Designed for sitting back with a Scotch and cigar, the club chair originated in the gentlemen’s clubs of yesteryear. Craftsman Tim Lozier of How Kola has given this classic piece a rustic spin, creating a leather armchair to specifically suit the Western gentleman. The Wyoming furnituremaker started with pieces of smooth, sinewy juniper driftwood and old cedar fence posts that still have holes from the staples that held the fence wire, a reminder of the wood’s agricultural past life. The soft, distressed leather cushions make the chair a luxurious haven for the sitter, but it is the ornate hand-tooling by award-winning saddlemaker Keith Seidel that makes this a chair to remember.
