Eli Young Band's Ft. Worth Favorites

• Favorite Restaurant in Denton, Texas
Mi Casita, and for the nightlife, the R Bar. Mi Casita: 110 N. Carroll Blvd., Denton, www.micasitafood.com. R Bar: 827 Eagle Dr., Denton, www.rbardenton.com.
• Favorite Place in Dallas/Fort Worth to Play and Eat
I live in Fort Worth, so I am a little partial. Fort Worth is quite a bit different from Dallas in every way. As far as food, I’m a huge fan of the Mexican food and margaritas at Joe T. Garcia’s. As far as bars, we used to play Woody’s Tavern all the time. I still love to go and hang out there every once in a while. Billy Bob’s Texas is always an incredible time; I dreamed about playing that stage one day. Joe T. Garcia’s: 2201 N. Commerce St., Fort Worth, www.joets.com. Woody’s Tavern: 4744 Bryant Irvin Road, Fort Worth, www.woodystaverntexas.com. Billy Bob’s Texas: 2520 Rodeo Plaza, Fort Worth, www.billybobstexas.com.
• Favorite Texas Music Venues Billy Bob’s Texas, of course, and Gypsy Tea Room [the legendary now-defunct club in Dallas’ Deep Ellum district] are pivotal in our story. Gruene Hall is just one of those places that you will always look forward to playing no matter how many times you go back. Gruene Hall: 1281 Gruene Road, Gruene, www.gruenehall.com.
• Favorite Texas Stereotypes
Calf fries — I love ’em. No pet armadillo, but the dogs come home with armadillos in their mouths all the time. Formal rattlesnake hunting, I’ve never done, but I’ve shot a few rattlesnakes in my lifetime.
