D&D Farm and Ranch
A true general store since 1972
The general store is an American tradition that dates back to the first colonists. Moving west with the pioneers, it served as both a gathering place and a stockpile of necessities. What could be better than one-stop shopping for clothing and farm equipment, food and cattle feed?
While few have survived the current era of retail specialization, you can still find one such shop in Seguin, Texas. D&D Farm and Ranch has everything a 21st-century settler needs, spread throughout 20,000 square feet of retail space. But the modern-day general store is not too big for good old-fashioned customer service. “We have that small-town spirit here,” says Lisa Haberle, director of advertising and e-commerce. “We get to know so many of our customers that when they walk in the door, they are greeted by their first name.”
Originally founded as a bumper company, D&D has been a true general store since 1972, providing everything from trailers and fencing materials to tack and apparel for farmers, ranchers, equestrians, and cowboys. And its inventory continues to grow. “As big as we are, we’ve created a boutique style in our departments featuring clothes and jewelry and gifts,” says Haberle. The company has even expanded its clothing collections to include more than just work wear and Wranglers. D&D will dress you in designer brands like Miss Me, Karen Kane, True Grit, Stetson, and Rustic West. “A lot of the styles are Western, but we also have some mainstream lines that can be worn as Western, if you match it with the right pair of boots.”
Beyond the saddles, supplies, and ensembles, D&D Farm and Ranch further provides services such as hat shaping and boot stretching, as well as saddle consignment and truck bed installation. You can’t get more one-stop than that.
