Achtung! The Bellamy Brothers do Germany
David and Howard Bellamy of the multi-platinum selling Bellamy Brothers have long enjoyed success throughout Europe. But now it looks like they're gearing up for a full-scale overseas invasion -- with a little help from German pop star DJ Ötzi.
Ötzi and the Bellamys spent most of the last six months recording their upcoming European release, D.J. Ötzi & the Bellamy Brothers: Simply The Best (Universal Music Germany), an album featuring new versions of some of the brothers' biggest hits and several American pop and country classics. Tracks include “Crossfire,” “The Gambler,” “Islands In The Stream” and “Sweet Caroline.” And the collaboration already is proving successful, with "I Need More of You" reaching No. 1 on Germany's Top 100 Single Download Chart, and the album at No. 29 on the Top 100 Album Download Chart.
“It's been very exciting working with DJ Ötzi,” says Howard Bellamy. “He's into every aspect of the process, from choosing the songs and recording them to the making of the videos and doing TV appearances. It's been loads of fun.”
DJ Ötzi & the Bellamy Brothers: Simply The Best will be available in European retail outlets this Friday, March 23. In support of the release, David and Howard have scheduled several national television appearances and performances with Ötzi in Germany. Tonight in Berlin, the Bellamys and Ötzi will walk the red carpet and attend the 2012 International ECHO Awards.
