More 'Dallas' On Tap For 2013
Looks like we’re not the only ones getting a kick out of the Dallas reboot. Ratings have been so swell for TNT’s revival of the classic prime-time soap opera that the cable network announced Friday plans for a second season in 2013. And this time, there’ll be 15, not 10, episodes.
As Turner Broadcasting president and head of programming Michael Wright crowed in a prepared statement: “Dallas has been a success for us on every level: pitch-perfect writing, smart directing and buzz-worthy performances by a new generation of stars and their iconic counterparts. With Dallas’ top-flight ratings, robust growth through time-shifted viewing and the extensive online buzz, it's clear the Ewings of Southfork have once again captured the imagination of viewers.”
According to Variety, the authoritative showbiz trade paper, Dallas is the No. 1 new basic cable series to date in 2012, drawing an average of 6.9 total viewers for each episode.
