Rodeo Roundup: Fort Worth Updates, Bucking Battle on TV
No football this Sunday, which makes some room for rodeo on NBC. What’s airing might be a lot more exciting than your average pigskin parade, too.
The inagural PBR 15/15 Bucking Battle is part of the Ariat Invitational in Sacramento, California, and pits the top 15 riders in the world against the 15 highest-ranked bulls at the event.
For instance, 2011 world champion Silvano Alves will take on the current top-ranked bull, Asteroid. It should be an epic matchup, and the best part is you can watch it while drinking beer on your couch.
Here’s more info about the 15/15 Bucking Battle broadcast (1:30 p.m. ET Sunday on NBC). Or, if you are near Sacramento, think about grabbing some tickets.

The Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo is going strong until Feb. 4, and you can keep up with the events, watch videos of the action, and see interviews with competing cowboys on the rodeo’s Facebook page. If you happen to be in the Fort this evening, you might take in a few tunes and award presentations at the 16th annual Will Rogers Cowboy Awards Show. It’s co-sponsored by the rodeo, and features performances by country and western swing artists. Dust off those dancing boots.

PRCA rodeos are also kicking off next week in Texas (Waller and Fort Bend counties) and California (Bakersfield). Keep an eye on the full national schedule here.
