The West Shines Bright In The James Beard Award Nominations

The semifinalists for the James Beard Awards, the NFR of the food and restaurant world, have been announced. And the West shines brightly on the list of nods. Highlights include Stephan Pyles for Outstanding Chef. Jason Maddy of Oak in Dallas and Martín Rios of Restaurant Martín in Santa Fe are going toe to toe for Best Chef: Southwest. High West Distillery & Saloon in Park City, Utah, is a contender in the Outstanding Bar Program category. Albuquerque’s Zacatecas Tacos & Tequila and Phoenix’s Vincent on Camelback are among those nominated for Best New Restaurant. Mark Bodinet of Copperleaf Restaurant at Cedarbrook Lodge in Seattle, Washington, is up for Rising Star Chef of the Year.
