Chow Time: Farmgirl Gourmet's Chili Recipes (Just in Time for Super Bowl)
Washington State blogger Heather Scholten has been delivering the organic, sustainable goods since 2006 on her site, Farmgirl Gourmet.
She and her family live on a 20 acre farm, and she's grown accustomed to sharing photos and instructions on how to make delicious farm-to-table dishes. And when Heather recommended that we try her turkey chili with yams and black beans (above), we thought of one thing and one thing only: the Super Bowl.
Every year, we all struggle with what to serve the jersey-wearing guests on the holiest of football Sundays. But chili seems like the perfect solution -- it's hot, it's hearty and there's usually a lot of it. (And you can serve it over Fritos, but don't tell Heather we said that.)
Click here to read the recipe for the turkey chili.
What say you? You don't like turkey meat? It's red meat or nothing for you and your pigskin party? Well, thankfully, Farmgirl Gourmet also has a traditional chili recipe in its archives. Click here to learn all the steps to make "the best chili you'll ever eat" (below).
Just looking at those photos of the meat being cooked in the pot makes the lip quiver.
Thanks to Farmgirl Gourmet for sharing. Are you ready for some football?
